Welcome to Something Simple
Hi, I’m Sarah, and I believe simple is enough.
I started Something Simple with one goal in mind: to take the overwhelm out of living well. As a faith centered mama, teacher, fitness instructor, and now homeschooler — I know how loud the health world can be.
We’re constantly told we need more. More supplements. More products. More routines. But what if all you really needed was something simple?
Everything I make — from nourishing tallow balm to protein packed banana muffins — is rooted in that same belief:
Keep it clean.
Keep it honest.
Keep it grounded in faith, family, and what really matters.

The Cookbook That Started It All
Years ago, I started baking protein-packed snacks for the women in my Pilates classes. They asked for recipes — so I made a cookbook. Then I printed it at home, sold 100 copies… and burned out my printer.
Today, the Something Simple cookbook includes over 90 recipes — all refined sugar-free, gluten and dairy - conscious, and full of flavor. It’s real food your kids will actually eat and your body will absolutely thank you for.
No white sugar. No white flour. No weird ingredients. Just good food.

FAQ'S
What is tallow & why should I use it?
Tallow is rendered fat from animals. Ours comes from grass-fed cattle. Tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, K, & B12 along with fatty acids. It is deeply nourishing, healing and gentle on our skin as it's fatty acid profile is remarkably similar to ours.
Where does your tallow come from?
Our tallow is locally sourced from grass-fed cattle. We use only suet (fat from around the kidney area) and never trim fat, ensuring our products maintain the highest nutrient profile possible, which is rendered and purified ourselves in our very own kitchen.
How do I store your products?
Our tallow products should be stored in a cool, dry place. Because we do not use preservatives, do not allow water or any sort of moisture to enter the products. If this does happen simply leave the lid off for a few days and allow the water to evaporate. Tallow is also temperature sensitive and could possibly change in texture if it freezes or heats too much. Don't worry, the quality of the tallow is still the same, it just may feel slightly different, but will still melt beautifully into your skin when applying.
My tallow was smooth & creamy when I bought it, but now the texture has changed, can I still use it?
Yes, absolutely! Texture shifts are a sign of a truly pure, clean product. We formulate our tallow without any chemical binders or synthetic stabilizers, meaning its consistency is naturally temperature-sensitive.
-
Why it changes: In warm weather or during transit, tallow can soften or melt. In cold weather, it naturally firms up. Sometimes, rapid cooling after warming can cause the natural fatty acids to separate slightly, creating a safe, skin-melting "grainy" texture.
-
Storage tip: For the best experience, store your tallow in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Rest assured, these texture fluctuations are purely cosmetic and do not impact the purity, shelf life, or skin-healing power of your tallow.
Are your products baby & pregnancy safe?
Absolutely! Because we use only the cleanest, purest ingredients and never use essential oils, fillers, preservatives or anything unnatural, our products are all safe, gentle and nourishing for our sweetest little bundles and blessed mamas.
What do you mean when you say "subtle, earthy scent"?
Because we don't use essential oils to add scents to our tallow, any scent that a product has is from infusing it with organic herbs and botanicals. With that said, things like dried chamomile and calendula flowers, along with marshmallow root naturally have an earthy scent and so when products are infused with them they take on a very subtle, earthy scent. Most people say they don't smell anything, but some who are very scent-sensitive can smell the natural scent added through these items.
